Responding to Aslan

1. How do each of the children respond to hearing about Aslan for the first time?
2. Give specific examples.
3. Why do you think they respond differently?

  1. 1 They think of why he is a LION as a leader or king.

2 Because they don't beleive he is a lion until they see him.

3 I think because maybe some people have more coward then bravness.

  2. 1.-2.Peter, Susan, and Lucy have a strange, wonderful feeling, but Edmund has a strange, horrible feeling.

3.Because Edmund has seen The White Witch first and believed her stories, he gets a bad impression of Aslan.Peter, Susan, and Lucy, however, had believed Mr. Tummus's description of The White Witch and thought that anyone against her should be good.

  3. 1. and 2. I totally agree with Cindy. I think they thought "how could a lion be the king of a land? And it is also strange because he is a ANIMAL and animals CAN'T TALK!!

    3. because they think differently and have different perspectives on the thought of a LION who is king of a magical land.

  9. 1. & 2. They feel like they are in a dream that someone says something which you don't understand but in the dream it feels as if it had some enormous meaning-either a terrifying one which turns the whole dream into a nightmare or else a lovely meaning to lovely to put into words, which makes the dream so beautiful that you remember it all your life and are always wishing you could get the dream again. At the name of Aslan each one of the children jump in it's inside,Edmund felt a sensation of mysterious horror,Peter felt suddenly brave and adventurous,Susan felt as if some delicious smell or some delightful strain of music just floated by her and,Lucy got the feeling you have when you wake up in the morning and realize it's the beginning of the holidays or the beginning of summer.
3.Because they are all different. For example: Peter feels brave and adventurous because he plays a part as a great king and protects the creatures by going to war.

  10. 1.Well I kind of agree and disagree with Eleanor. Because in the book it says that they didn't know what to say or do so they were speechless. But when they saw him they were terrified 2. They were all AFRAID to talk to him at first but Peter realized it was up to him for him to say something.3.I have to agree with Eleanor and Cindy because all people handle things diffrently. For example:Lucy is not shy at all and Peter is brave. :-)

  12. 3.i think they respond differently because peter and susan dont know that edmund has alrady been in in narnia and met the white witch so they believe lucy since shes the only person that they know of thats been in narnia.but since edmund has already met the white witch he thinks that she is nice.

  13. 1. They all like him except Edmund.
    2. Ednund goes an tells the white witch about him. Peter, Susan, and Lucy feel very happy inside when they talk about him at the beaver's house.
    3. Because Edmund had a bad first impressionon on him and the others had good ones.
