  1. It's amazing how lions can act like that with just a little TLC!!
PART 1 Lions normally walk 2.4 miles per hour ,but can run 29-35 miles per hour .They are also able to leap distances of up to 36 feet .
Most lion hunts fail. Of 62 lion stalks observed in one study, only 10 were successful
The Darker a lions mane, the older he is.
When lions walk, their heels don't touch the ground.
Young lions have light spotting on their coats that will disappear as they grow up.

  3. 2.The male's strength, beauty, and power make him seem like a royal beast. He roars loudly and snarls, for the adult lion fears nothing. He has no predators, or hunters, except man.

  6. 1.The lion in the movie acted like a human. It connects with The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe because Aslan acted like a human too.

Part 1 Lions can run a maximum of 50 mph, but only for short distances like 160 yards.African lions can weigh about 450 to 500 lbs.

  7. My movie is The Lion King. Simba is like any lion except someday he is going to be king. But his uncle Scar has other ideas, he'll do anything to be king even if it means killing his brother and his son.

  10. When cubs are 6-9 days old they open their eyes. Their first teeth come in when they are three weeks old.

  11. Part 2 I think C.S.Lewis made Aslan a lion because lions are at the top of the food chain besides humans. Also, they are fast and big creatures.

  13. Part 4 I would not change Aslan into another animal because this might have a big effect on the book. I like Aslan as a lion because I agree with the decision C.S.Lewis made and understand his reasons.

  14. Part 3 In The Wizard of Oz, The Cowardly Lion plays the part of the person with no bravery. This roll is ideal because lions are supposedly "The Kings of Beasts". If he was "The King of Beasts" it seems he would need to be brave.

  15. 1. it made me feel happy and sad at the same time. it is like the book because Aslan is kind and tame (some times).

  16. Part 1. male lions can be 550 lb 2. it is the 2nd largest living cat after the tiger 3. lions seldom live for longer than 8 years.

  17. Part 3. I think C.S. Lewis put a lion as the ruler of Narnia because its a very big cat, so that kind of gives it an advantadge because they are big and strong kind of like a king because you would think a king should be big and strong so you would feel you have a good king. but there is one thing that is different in the book than in my reserch: in the book Aslan lives (this is what it sounds like in the book to me) for ever. in my reserch it says that lions don't usually live longer than 8 years.

  25. Sammy-I LOVE your comparison with the Lion in the WIzard of Oz. That was a very clever move to the lion the weak one. That was a powerful way to play on stereotypes.

  26. Sophia-I can really tell that you took this entry to heart and went back and used what was in our novel and contrasted it with the facts your learned about lions. That was a clever way to connect those two ideas. Well done. That is not easy to do.

  29. 1.That viedo made me feel verry emotional and happy but cryed the first time i saw it.
part1.A1.the most interesting fact i found out was that male lions can weigh up to 300 pounds!!!!!!!!!!A2.the other thing I reasearched was that there was a female lion that adopted a baby wild dog and fed it its milk when both of them were verry hungry and had no food. Also that male lions are considered the father of all animals.
part2.problably because they are considered father of all animals and because of all the kingly things they do and because they are the top of the food chain asidde from humans.
part3.the one I would compare with would be the lion king the main character would be the little lion and what he did was he became kink and was an amazing one too.part4.NO I would not change aslan to another animal because he is an amazing king and could not be replace because it would change the whole story and effect it MAJORLY.

  30. 1. The movie made me feel loving inside, but reading what she went through and listening to the music had made me feel really sad about it.
Part 1 The lion's scientific name is Panthera Leo, it is a vulnerable species. They are found in Africa, Eurasia from Western Europe to India and, in the Americas, from the Yukon to Peru.
Part 2 I believe C.S. Lewis choose the lion because it is a member of the felidae family a, 1 of 4 big cats in the genus Panthera, can live for more than 20 yrs., weighs 150-250 kg, the second largest cat living after the tiger, tallest of the felines (140-250 cm., with powerful legs, a strong jaw and, 3.1 in. canine teeth. They are called "The King Of Beasts" because they are a popular symbol of royalty, stateliness, and bravery.
Part 3 My movie is "The Lion King", in this movie Simba's (the protagonist) father (Mufasa) had died and his evil uncle Scar(the antagonist)had killed Mufasa. He acted like Scar would help, but then he noticed Scar was right, and ran away. He came home later to kick Scar out of his throne.
Part 4 I might change him, I would want a creature more mythical and magical. I would choose a dragon instead, but it would definitly change the story. He would be fire breathing instead.

  31. My favorite fact is that the lions mane is light if it is young. It has a dark mane if it is older.I think c.s. lewis chose a lion because they are fierce, fast, and strong. the lion king is a good movie about a ton of lions and other animals. I think the animal should be a dragon because they breathe fire they can fly they are really big and tall they are strong, fast, and fierce like a bulldoser.I think c.s. lewis should of chosed a dragon instead of a lion in the movie and book.

  32. part 1:an average female lion weighs 160 kg and the lifespan is 17 years.an average male lion weighs 230 kg and its lifespan is 15 years.

    ReplyDelete
  33. part 2:i think c.s. lewis made aslan a lion because lions are very brave and are very strong

    ReplyDelete
  34. part 3:my movie is the wizard of oz. in the wizard of oz the lion is a coward and he wants to get courage.

    ReplyDelete
  35. part 4:i would'nt change aslan because that would ruin the whole story

  36. 1. It made me feel sad that they had to let him go.
    2. Because if he picked something that wasn't as powerful it might of seemed odd that it defeated the white witch.
    3. In this role the lion was amazing and powerful, like it is most times when using a lion.
    4. No. I wouldn't because a lion is very powerful and suits his part perfectly.
